Case Printing

For secondary package coding ICE offers the range of Torus high definition inkjet printers which are designed for on-line printing of text, barcodes and graphics onto cardboard cases, paper sacks and other porous materials, and all Torus models feature a patented self-maintaining printhead system.

For years the Achilles heel of high definition inkjet printers had been the ingress of dirt and dust into the printhead, resulting in poor quality printing and production line down-time. The pioneering solution on the ICE Torus was introduced in 2001 and automatically cleans and re-primes the printhead before every single product is printed, without slowing down the production line. This proven innovation delivers consistent high quality, accurate and totally readable print without the need for operator intervention, or having to stop the line, thereby maximising production efficiencies and lowering the cost of ownership.

Furthermore, all ink used within the printhead maintenance process is automatically recycled for re-use with no wastage or spillage, ensuring a clean operating area and minimum cost per print. Typical print costs are half that of alternative ink jet case coding equipment and one tenth that of an equivalent printed label to give an average return on investment of under 12 months.
